Espiritu Santo Island in the Sea of Cortez provides the perfect base camp for our exploration of this unique environment. Our flexible itinerary enables a variety of activities for a variety of interests, from kayaking to hiking to water activities. Motorized support skiffs provide a safe and luxurious excursion, allowing us to discover outlying islands and the locals’ favorite fishing and snorkeling spots. Besides exploring many hidden coves and white sand beaches by kayak, we make excursions from our camp to nearby snorkeling hot spots, including a sea lion rookery. There we join these graceful creatures, swimming alongside them and enjoying their curious nature. And of course, there’s always the choice of relaxing on the beach with a good book, soaking up the warm Baja sun.
Baja Sea Kayaking Tour Overview
Day 1: Arrive in La Paz, Mexico, and stay overnight at our waterfront hotel.
Day 2: Transfer by motorboat to our comfortable beach camp on Espiritu Santo Island. Receive an introduction to the island and a sea kayaking orientation, then jump into exploring the nearby coves and deserted beaches.
Days 3-5: From our base camp, paddle along the shoreline discovering hidden lagoons and pristine beaches. Snorkel among colorful fish and swim with sea lions. Hike into canyons for stunning vistas. Indulge in evening happy hours while watching brilliant sunsets, then enjoy feasts of fresh local specialties…the perfect way to drift into starry nights.
Day 6: Spend the morning sea kayaking, snorkeling, or hiking before our afternoon transfer back to La Paz. In the evening, enjoy a farewell celebration and dine on more regional cuisine.
