TRIP RATING
Two quintessential aspects of New England life are experienced on this exploration of Vermont – small towns and the pastoral landscapes. We first venture into the Northeast Kingdom, perhaps Vermont’s best remaining example of “the way things used to be.” In East Burke, life’s pace is slower, and you will soon fall into step with its rural rhythms. Then to Stowe, a year-round resort with the heart of a small town. Here we take advantage of all that is available – from great hikes to antiquing to horseback riding. In the evenings, we retire to genteel country accommodations, complete with charming living areas made warm by early autumn fires. All before the backdrop of the world’s most famous foliage.
Vermont Hiking Tour Overview
Days 1-2: Explore the colorful woods trails of the Northeast Kingdom. Enjoy the scenic landscape including Mt. Pisgah, Mt. Hor and Lake Willoughby. Relax in a quaint country inn.
Days 3-4: Transfer to Stowe to experience small town charm, with access to Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. Visit the famous Trapp Family Lodge.
Day 5: Departure from Burlington.
