Discover the Wonders of Angkor Wat on a Custom Tour with Boundless Journeys

The perfect extension to your other Asian explorations, a Cambodia custom tour with Boundless Journeys is a brief sojourn into one of Southeast Asia’s most fascinating countries. It combines the bustling street and market areas of Siem Reap with the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, widely considered one of the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces.

With a past clouded by conflict, Cambodia has suffered greatly but is now rebuilding and reacquainting visitors with the wonders of the powerful ancient Khmer culture. In Siem Reap, you’ll witness the latest chapter of Cambodian history being written, as new hotels abound and fine restaurants showcase Cambodian cuisine. You’ll also discover the ancient temples of Angkor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of nearly 80 square miles. Explore at sunrise, these hundreds of intricately carved temples scattered across a tropical landscape.

Inevitably you will find yourself moved by what you see and hear: the history carved in stone and the stories told by the Khmer people. Your Boundless Journeys tour of Angkor Wat will resonate long after you’ve left captivating Cambodia.

Siem Reap

Located just on the outskirts of the temples of Angkor is Siem Reap, the capital city of Cambodia's Siem Reap Province. As gateway to the Angkor region -- and one of the most spectacular and visited sites in Southeast Asia -- Siem Reap has transformed itself dramatically over the years.

In just four decades, it has gone from a land under siege by the Khmer Rouge to a popular resort destination, featuring outstanding accommodations, restaurants, bars, museums, and other attractions. Must visits include Siem Reap's markets: Psar Leu ("Higher Market"), Psah Chas ("Old Market") and the Angkor Night Market.
