Weather

India has a hot, wet, and cool three season year, and is such a vast continent that weather in the Northern section frequently has little to do with that in the South.

The hottest weather peaks in early June, the monsoon season reaches its strongest point at about July, and the most pleasant cool season arrives in October. Please be advised that the weather in India is highly unpredictable, and you should be prepared for both hot and cold weather; dressing in layers is advisable. It is quite possible that temperatures could be either colder or warmer (or a combination of both) than the average temperature range and, unfortunately, cannot be predicted.

In general, evenings and early mornings tend to be cool, and you should definitely bring a light jacket. Days tend to be sunny, although, you should be prepared for the possibility of rain.

You may obtain more detailed weather information on www.weatherbase.com.

When to Go

Travelers can best enjoy India's climate during a specific time of year. In October through March, any unpleasantly high temperatures have subsided, and the wet monsoon season has yet to arrive. The weather at this time of year sees moderate temperatures and precipitation with lush landscapes and full lakes. This is also the best time to participate in national and local festivals.
